Garm, Trash Tattoo, Dark in Lyon

7 years of expertise in Trashwork and Dark Tattoo. From organic to abstract, I sculpt your skin with dark, powerful, and custom compositions. Formerly DarkDog, my art now evolves to transform each project into a unique and immortal work.

The balance between the strength of Trash and the precision of Semi-Realism. Based in Lyon after a decade of creation, I specialise in pieces with a strong visual impact: from monumental full backs to the sharp lines of trashwork. My approach merges human anatomy with a raw and tormented aesthetic. Whether you seek the finesse of detail or the aggressiveness of deep black, I put my experience at the service of your darkest visions.

Your tattoo artist in Lyon: dark, trash and semi-realistic tattoos

Garm Tattoo is my tattoo studio in the heart of Lyon, part of the Die And Retry collective. Dark, trash, semi-realistic or ornamental: here is what I do, how we work together and where to find me.

Dark, trash and semi-realistic tattoos in Lyon

My work is defined by a raw, radical aesthetic: deep contrasts, saturated blacks and organic textures. I tattoo in dark semi-realism, trashwork and cyber-sigilism, in Lyon, in the 2nd arrondissement.

Dark semi-realism is the detail of a gaze, the texture of a skull or the scales of a dragon, worked to give them an almost living quality. Trashwork, for its part, makes lines cross and shapes explode: a controlled chaos, born in Eastern Europe, that I interpret in my own way.

Cyber-sigilism and abstract work play with sharp lines that follow the anatomy, to emphasise the musculature and the movement of the body. To see how it looks, browse the dark tattoo gallery or the trash tattoo gallery.

Dark ornamental tattoos in Lyon

Dark ornamental means motifs inspired by tribal art, lettering or architectural ornaments, worked in black or in negative to change the flow of the body. Each piece is a custom work, drawn for you.

This style demands great precision: the lines have to be drawn without the slightest mistake, otherwise the whole design suffers. It is therefore important to choose an artist who masters it and to look at their portfolio. Born among lettering specialists, notably in Eastern Europe, it later spread around the world.

Have an idea, a motif or a placement in mind? Describe it in the project form: I’ll advise you on the choice of motif and where it sits on the body.

My process is built on listening and bespoke creation: every project is unique and designed to age with you. A long session is split into several appointments, with regular breaks, and the sterile equipment, inks and aftercare are provided on site.

Is it your first tattoo? Start with a small piece instead, easy to enlarge or add to later: it’s the advice I give most often. Ready to take the plunge? Describe your project or write to me.

Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask me before a first appointment in Lyon.

Where is the tattoo studio in Lyon?

I tattoo at 5 rue Vaubecour, 69002 Lyon, in the 2nd arrondissement, within the Die And Retry collective. The area is served by the Ampère – Victor Hugo and Bellecour metro stations.

Can I come from Switzerland to get tattooed?

Yes. The studio is in Lyon, France, about two hours from Geneva by direct train; from Lausanne, the journey goes via Geneva. Describe your project in the form and I’ll reply within 48 hours to arrange an appointment.

What tattoo styles do you do?

I specialise in dark, trash and semi-realistic tattooing: dark compositions, strong contrasts, black and grey. I do small pieces as well as large projects that cover a whole area, like a full sleeve, a back piece or a leg.

How much does a tattoo cost?

The price depends on the size, the level of detail and the placement. Every project gets a personalised, free quote after we’ve talked through your idea: describe it in the project form and I’ll reply with an estimate.

How do I book an appointment?

Use the project form or the contact page, attaching your reference images, the area of the body you have in mind and an approximate size. I reply within 48 hours to arrange an appointment.

Does getting a tattoo hurt?

The sensation varies with the area: fleshy parts like the arm or the thigh are easier to bear than areas close to the bone, such as the ribs, the sternum or the elbow. A long session is split into several appointments, with regular breaks.

Do I need to prepare anything before the session?

Come well rested, with a proper meal before the session, and avoid alcohol the day before. Wear comfortable clothes that leave the area to be tattooed accessible. Sterile equipment, inks and aftercare products are provided on site.

How do I look after my tattoo after the session?

Keep the protective film on for the time indicated, then wash with lukewarm water and pH-neutral soap, pat dry without rubbing and apply a thin layer of healing cream. While it heals, avoid swimming pools, saunas and direct sunlight.
